Three new directors have joined the board of BASIC Bank PLC., a 100% State-owned commercial Bank, following their appointment by the Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the Ministry of Finance.
The newly appointed directors are Farooq Ahmed, Former Additional Secretary, Md. Lutfur Rahman, Learned Lawyer and Md. Khairul Kabir, Rtd. Banker. They attended in the 736th meeting of the bank’s board of directors held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
On behalf of the Board, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors, welcomed the newly appointed Directors with floral greetings. Among others, Munshi Abdul Ahad, Former Additional Secretary and currently a member of the National Pension Authority, Sheikh Farid, Joint Secretary of FID, Ministry of Finance, Md. Matiur Rahman, FCA, FCMA, Dr. Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal, former Government Official (Grade-1), all Directors of BASIC Bank, and Rup Ratan Pine, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Observer of BASIC Bank’s Board, Abu Md. Mofazzal, Managing Director (Current Charge), and Md. Hasan Imam, General Manager and Company Secretary of BASIC Bank were also present on the occasion.
Recently, a gazette notification was issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance regarding their appointment as the Director of BASIC Bank Limited for a three-year term.
